Mission

Founded in Nigeria in 2014 after the passing of the late Dr.
Olusegun Agagu (CON), the Olusegun Agagu Foundation was
established to:

– immortalise the name and legacy of the late Dr. Olusegun Agagu

– live up to and seek to actualise his personal credo which was 'to
leave things better than he met them '

– further the ideals he lived by and worked passionately towards,
particularly intellectual excellence, good governance and national
development

Support Us

Our Intents
Expand university awards programme
  • Add 2 more universities to the scheme by giving an endowment for 3 students per university (Geology or Petroleum Engineering)
Publications
  • A compendium of speeches from all our great alumni speakers and the policy papers that have come out as a result
Start a virtual Memorial Library
  • A library in memory of Dr. Olusegun Agagu to educate the public as well as promote the work of the Foundation
Other initiatives
  • Essay competitions and policy formulation
  • An intervention in Aviation safety

Impact

Over the years, the Foundation has carried out the following activities:

  • 9 memorial lectures held on the anniversary of the passing of Dr. Olusegun Agagu

  • Existing bursary and cash prize programmes for University students maintained

  • More than 400 awards and prizes so far

  • Several new cash prizes and school scholarships established at Secondary School, Undergraduate and Master degree levels

  • I will like to express my appreciation for being awarded the Friends and Associates of Dr. Olusegun Agagu Prize for the best student in Geology in 200 level for 2012/2013 session. The prize is one that encourages students to work harder and I hope such good work continues. Dr. Olusegun Agagu will remain a man to be remembered and his good works live on.
